Today, I found myself knee-deep in a tricky HVAC situation at a home in Gilbert. The system wasn’t performing like it should, so after a quick inspection, the culprit was clear: a blown capacitor.
Now, if you’re familiar with HVAC systems, you know that a blown capacitor is no joke. It can cause your unit to work at half-speed, or worse, not at all. In this case, it had even exploded, which threw the whole system off balance.
So, I got right to it. First, I safely removed the busted capacitor—pieces everywhere, not pretty—and prepped the new one for installation. Once I had everything lined up, I swapped the old for the new, making sure all the wires were snug and in place and the air conditioner was repaired.
And just like that, the HVAC system was back to its prime. Cool air started flowing again, and the house returned to a comfortable temperature.
If your HVAC is acting up, don’t wait! A simple repair, like replacing a capacitor, can save you from bigger headaches down the road.
